Submissions

Submissions must be made online at taconference2016.exordo.com (you will be required to setup an acount first) until 14th July 2016. All submissions must be accompanied by a 50-word abstract for inclusion in the conference program.

 

There are two types of submissions: extended abstracts (for research or projects ongoing but not yet completed) and full papers (for completed research). Both types of submissions must be written in English.

 

For each submission, you will be asked to indicate a theme, choosing among the four main themes of the conference (Tourism & Ageing; Wellbeing; Health & Ageing; Human Resources & Ageing; Tourism Marketing & Ageing).

 

This information will help the organizing committee to identify reviewers that are experts in that area and to align your submission with other submissions that fit your areas of interest. Moreover, you will be asked to indicate whether you prefer to give an oral presentation or a poster presentation.

 

Preferences will be accommodated by the organizing committee according to organizational needs.

 

All manuscripts (including extended abstracts) will be double blind reviewed.

 

The maximum number of submitted papers or abstracts accepted per author (either single or co-author) is three.

 

By submitting, at least one co-author from each paper is committed to register for, and attend the conference upon acceptance.

 

All those wishing to participate in the Tourism & Ageing Conference 2016 are invited to submit.

 

Extended Abstracts

The extended abstracts should be between 500 - 800 words long and may present empirical research, theoretical development, reviews or case studies. In addition to the required 50 word abstract, extended abstracts for empirical papers should include the following: title, keywords, purpose, methodology, results (preliminary if in early stages), conclusions, and key references. Extended abstracts for theories, reviews, or case studies should include the following: title, keywords, purpose, identify the scope of theory/review/ case study, and references. It is expected that the work described in an extended abstract will be completed for presentation at the conference.

 

Full Papers

The full papers should contain less than 5.000 words, including images, tables, figures and appendixes should present original research or theoretical development, review, or case study. Full papers that are empirical should include the following: title, keywords, purpose, methodology, results, conclusions, and references. Full papers for theories, reviews, or case studies should include the following: title, keywords, purpose, scope of theory/ review/ case study, conclusions, and references.

Only full papers are considered for the Best Conference Paper Award.

 

Best Paper

All  Full Papers submitted to the conference will be analyzed by a jury comprising members of the Scientific Committee and one will be awarded as the Best Conference Paper.

The author(s) of the best conference paper will receive an award consisting of the amount of the registration fee for the Tourism & Ageing Conference.

Full papers will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Scientific Research Trends
  • Consistency of the gathered data
  • Impact on the society/community
  • Interest of the article for future research

 

Posters

Poster submissions should meet the same requirements as the full paper and extended abstract submissions described above. Complete papers and extended abstracts can be submitted for the sole purpose of participating in the poster session.

Conference publications

The accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings available on Tourism & Ageing´s Conference web page unless the authors express their disagreement with their paper´s insertion.

 

A large number of international journals have confirmed their interest in reviewing papers presented to Tourism & Ageing Conference.
